Mid-Month Check-In

Right now is in the middle of the December, and I have spent $299.44 on grocery. This spending also includes a Christmas stocking. I think I should be able to get very close to $400 more or less.

Shooting for $400/pm on grocery bill

I am in need of extra money. Since I have not been able to find a job to bring in money, I have aimed at our household spending to the absolute $0 if possible.

I think my family can start eating fresh vegetable and fresh meat from now on. They are cheaper and way more healthier. I heard that some families were able to spend around $350/pm for grocery. I am shooting for $400/pm.

Lots Fruits!

After a whole week of fruitless week, I bought tones of fruit yesterday. I don't believe I will be able to eat them all before they go bad.

What have I done! I spent more than $300!

What do I buy nowadays?

Everything is very expensive. My grocery bill per month is closing to $1,000! I am worried how long we can live in this condition.

I still shop at farmer's market, Costco, and Wal-Mart using the credit card with cash rebate incentive. I strongly suggest you use cash-rebate credit card for your purchases. But, very important, you need to pay the bill completly off every month. I wish I am financially worry free.

Fruits

I have been buying variety fruits lately. Just try to give myself a non-boring taste. However, by accident, I found out that orange really help me on relieving the cold/flu symptoms. I strongly recommend it.

Green Tea

I don't care for soft drink, not even diet drink. I strongly recommend green tea. It will clean up those greasy feeling in your mouth and inside your body. It might also help getting rid of the fat in your body. Some studies show that green tea will help losing weight. Don't put real sugar if you have a sweet tooth. :)

White meat and green vegi

I found out that you cannot eat water-cook shrimp and broccolis every meal while trying to loss weight. My weight stalled when I ate shrimps and broccolis for every meal for 3 straight days. Once I changed my menu to green-leave vegi and other white fished (or egg), my weight started to come down again. So, buy more green leave vegi. You will see how it works on you.

Food Shopping

Since I started my QWL diet, I found out this terrible money thing regarding the grocery shopping. I need to tell you this. A lot of money is involved in it.

I bought skinless salmon for $5.99/lb at Georgia International Farmers' Market today. It was $13.99/lb at the Harry's Farmers' Market on 1/5/08. The crown brocollics at GIFM is $1.29/lb while it was $2.99/lb at Harry's. I strongly believed that I would go broke if I shopped at the Harry's.

So, this is what I decide to do. I will buy vegetables, fish, or meat at GIFM. For other stuffs, I will go to WAl-Mart or the Sam's Club . For gasoline, I will go to Sam's or Murry at Wal-Mart.
